When in God… You Have NO Choice But to Succeed!!

“When in God, you have NO choice but to Succeed… you have NO choice but to be a Champion… and you have NO choice but to Overcome!”

Last week… I had a dip in business, and got a bit unmotivated… so to encourage myself, I wrote 4 sentences on one of the whiteboards that are in my office.

These messages were more like declarations and statements of faith for me… and were so AWESOME, that I signed & dated the board underneath the messages (to hold myself accountable to it), and so did three other business professionals who were in my office at the time I wrote that message (a lawyer, an insurance broker, and another pastor).

This was what I wrote:

I Have NO choice but to be SUCCEED!
I Have NO choice but to be a CHAMPION!
I Have NO choice but to OVERCOME!
I Have NO choice but to be WEALTHY!

You see my friend… everyday that we are blessed to live life… we are bombarded on a daily basis with choices that need to be made. Some choices we make will be for our good… and obviously, other choices that are made will not be for our good (that’s a nice way of me saying some choices we make will suck!)

Since we are not God, we do not have control of EVERY single situation that takes place in our lives… (now that’d be great if we did, wouldn’t it?)

But we do have the ability to have control over our MINDSET and MANY of the situations that affect us.

That’s right!! Just like if you’re getting served food on a cafeteria or a buffet line… and the server offers you something you don’t like… you have the authority to refuse that certain food item, don’t you?

The same is true with many of the choices that are set before us. We have the AUTHORITY to say NO, by choices will not include failing. You have the authority to say NO, my choices do not include bankruptcy. You have the authority to say NO, my choices do not include divorce.

Whatever the situation is, you control what items will go on your plate. If you have been following this blog for anytime, you know that one of my personal favorite Scriptures is this:

“You shall declare a thing, and it WILL BE established… and the light of God shall shine down on ALL your ways!” (Job 22:28)

Now, everyday that I enter into that office and look at those statements of faith… I am encouraged to think positively… and know that my choices are limited to only positive choices.

The ball is in your court. Choose this day whether failure, misery, and pain are choices that you want on your platter… or live life ABUNDANTLY, and only leave room for success, joy, and love on your platter.

I personally believe in the POWER of declaration so much, that I am naming my 1st boy who will be here in about 6 weeks… Malachi Champion Wiafe.

Do you think in life, he’s going to really ever doubt he’s anything but a champ? No, I don’t think so either.

My challenge to you is to write your own Statements of Faith… and follow them for at least 30-Days… and let me know how much it has affected your life at the end of that 30-days.

Be blessed in all that you do… and walk in God’s abundance today!

Can the Word of God Fit Your Lifestyle?

Dont compromise and try to make the Word of God fit your life... but let your life fit the Word of God!

Don't compromise and try to make the Word of God fit your life... but let your life fit the Word of God!

Have you ever been out shopping for clothes… or perhaps shoes, and you try them on at the store, and they seemingly fit you and are the RIGHT SIZE… but when you get home, it doesn’t seem to fit right anymore?

It’s either TOO tight in certain spots… or TOO loose on you… or sags in areas it doesn’t have any purpose sagging in… you get my drift.

There is nothing wrong with the clothes or the shoes itself. It came in the RIGHT SIZE, and did NOT magically change sizes during the time you bought it from the store… and took it home.

The thing that went wrong, is us 🙂  — throughout the day, our feet swell larger and then decompress and get smaller at certain times.

Also, dependent on what time of the day it is… our bodies might be a little larger (especially if you just had run-in with an all-you-can-eat buffet), or you might be a little bit smaller.

So in the end — the shoes or the clothes are the RIGHT SIZE, but we are the ones who are always changing, and trying to get stuff that is the RIGHT SIZE, to fit on us.

I believe the same is true with the Word of God. The Word of God is ALWAYS the right fit, the right size, the right measurement… and always will be, as Jesus is the same “yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)

This week on the Today Abundance blog, we have more or less been talking about “Things that Make People Fall OUT of Their Faith”.

One thing that makes people fall out of faith is the TEMPTATIONS of life. And when tempted, many good Christian people opt to try and compromise… and FORCE the Word of God to fit their life.

But the problem is this — I wear a Size 10.5 shoe size. No matter how hard I try, I would NEVER be able to force my foot into a Size 6 shoe. It would be impossible.

The New Testament of the Bible talks warns us of fornication (premarital sex). So just because we are literally “burning” to have sex with that person we are living with and are unmarried to… doesn’t mean we should try and COMPROMISE, and say that that portion of the Bible is in error, and doesn’t fit to today’s standards.

No, go ahead and excuse yourself, take a nice cold shower… and cool that “burn” off friend!

You see, either the Bible is ALL 100% correct… or it is 100% false… and that’s the bottom line. We can’t say that 80% of the Word is true… or 60% is true. We cannot accept some parts… and then deny other parts.

Or how about this:

Just because we have “always done something” which is a sin… doesn’t mean we should continue to do so after we have received the truth. So example — if a person were to find out that he should not cheat on his taxes (remember that little verse about not stealing?)… and he has been cheating the past 20 years… that doesn’t mean he should KEEP ON sinning, because he’s always done it.

No, he should repent of his past sins, and from that point on — do what is right going on forward.

You see friend, the Word of God is ALWAYS going to be the RIGHT FIT for us… IF we allow it to fit in our lives. Never try to compromise the Word of God. Allow it to fit in your life — and you will NEVER stay disappointed!

If you enjoyed this message… please feel free to forward it to your friends & family. Comments are ALWAYS appreciated. Be blessed today and walk in God’s abundance!

Don’t Allow the “Flaws” of the Bible Make You Lose Faith!

Albert Einstein, arguably the world’s most intelligent man… once said something to the effect of, “We don’t know 1/10 of 1 percent of ANYTHING in this world”.

Meaning no matter how smart and intelligent any of us think we are… we’re all still a little bit on the dumb side.

With that said… I would like to say that there are many people out there, who are losing faith in the Bible… and then in God… because of many so-called “contradictions” that appear in the Bible.

NEVER allow any of these supposed “flaws” or “contradictions” to affect your faith. Keep reading and I will explain why…

I don’t want this to be a looooooong blog post… so I won’t go too much into detail on it all, but I will say that most people get real hung up on the differences between the New Testament and the Old Testament.

So, in typical Daniel Wiafe fashion — I will attempt to do the impossible, and break down those differences in 3 sentences or less. Are ya ready for a little Bible Study?

The laws of the Old Testament for the most part… can be broken down into three main categories. Priestly Law, Kingly Law, and Moral Law… most of which were fulfilled (or completed) with the coming of Jesus Christ.

Priestly Law included things such as “Only a priest can take a sacrifice to be burned for the forgiveness of your sin… and If you have a skin disease, you must go outside of the city limits for 7 days”.

Jesus is now our HIGH PRIEST (Hebrews 5-7)… and has completed ALL the requirements of the Priestly Law of God.

Kingly Law included such things as “An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth… or things such as if you disobey your parents, you will be taken outside of the city limits and stoned (now that’s a nice way to get kids to behave!).

The Kingly Law was devised solely for the nation of Israel at that time… to govern their kingdom. It does not apply to those of us who are NOT living in that kingdom. The “kingly law” that we follow now — are the laws of the country that we live in.

The Moral Law is really the “heart” of God. It includes the 10 commandments (Exodus 20)… and states things such as ‘Do not kill, do not steal, do not commit adultery, love god, etc.’.

This is still in effect today… and in fact was summed up into a couple life-changing sentences. “Love God. Love People.” (Matthew 22:36-38).

Any other Bible difficulties you may have — it DOES NOT matter. In the end, the Bible tells us that “ALL Scripture is given by the inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16)

…and I don’t know about you… but the very fact that Jesus was beaten and endured punishment for my healing, was buried in a dark tomb for three days, and then rose up from the dead one sunny Sunday morning with full power and authority… is ALL that I need to know & understand!

I don’t quite understand how a car motor runs or how the combustion process works in an engine… but I have FAITH that my car will run every morning!

I don’t fully understand the physics or the geometric complexities that cause the earth to tilt a few degrees to one side… and causes the earth to never get to close or to far away from the sun. All I know is that the sun comes up in the morning… and is never late going down in the evening!

So in the end… it doesn’t matter what I think, it doesn’t matter what others say, it doesn’t matter how many so-called “wise and educated” people set out to disprove Jesus (and the existence of God for that matter)… I have made up in my mind that I will TRUST and BELIEVE in the Jesus, who rose for me… and I will believe EVERY word that comes from the Bible, even if I don’t understand it all.

Blessings to you all… and have a GREAT day!

Put Your Faith in this and You Will ALWAYS Be Disappointed

Okay... so maybe disappointment isn't the greatest gift in the world... but this sure was a funny pic!

Good day to you, wherever in the world you are at. As Christian people who are a part of God’s Kingdom… we must NEVER forget that we are not exempt from losing or straying away from our faith.

I have heard it said in the past that the #1 reason why many people leave church, and EVEN worse… abandon their faith in God, is because of the hypocrites they see in church, or see on T.V.

So let’s be real — are there hypocrites in church? Well does a fish swim in the water and does a bird fly in the air? Of course there are hypocrites in church!

…and then again, there are also hypocrites in the hospitals, but that doesn’t stop any of us from going to the hospital if we break our leg… does it?

Are there hypocrite attorneys out there? There sure are… but if I ever get into legal trouble, I’m going to be the first person to rush out and try and grab myself a Johnny Cochran/Matlock — whether they’re a hypocrite OR not!

Point being is this: People are people, whether they are godly or ungodly people. Pastors are people. Ministers are people. Bishops are people. I myself am a pastor, and while I would like to tell everyone that I have no faults in my life, actions, or thoughts — that would be a BOLD faced lie!

I do live a highly moral life… and I refrain from doing many of the things other 20-something year olds do… but I do mess up sometimes.

I get angry without cause sometimes, I get a little selfish sometimes, sometimes I think crazy thoughts… but I do strive to be the BEST man God made me… and I try even harder to walk a stronger Christian walk, each day that I live. So I might not be perfect (and never will be)… but I AM better than I was yesterday!

You see friends… we must NEVER put our faith in men. Do NOT put your faith in men, because they will ALWAYS disappoint you — but put your faith in the ONE living and TRUE God, and He will NEVER disappoint you!

The ONLY perfect person who ever walked this earth was Jesus… and we should follow his example and put our faith in Him, because we WILL NEVER be disappointed in Him.

If you put your faith in Christ on me, a self-declared man of God — you will eventually be disappointed. If you put your faith in Christ on your Pastor at your church — you will eventually be disappointed. If you put your faith in Christ on the television evangelist — you will eventually be disappointed.

But put your faith in Jesus… and fix your eyes on Jesus, who is the AUTHOR and the FINISHER of your faith… and you will NOT grow weary and you will NOT lose heart! (Hebrews 12:2, 3 paraphrased)

Don’t allow people to shake your faith in Jesus… but do allow your faith in Jesus to shake the world around you! If you ever see people who are leaders in the Body of Christ, and they fall into sin… or they disappoint you, don’t leave God and your faith because of that. That man or that woman is just the same as you — a human being and is prone to falling to the same sins you do.

Put your faith in Jesus… and you will NEVER be disappointed. Be blessed and walk in God’s abundance today!

You are What You Eat

You are what you eat!

You are what you eat!

This week, I was reminded of how important it is to stay committed to the Word of God. In my busy work life and day-to-day activities… I neglected to get into my Word and into my daily prayer, and actually felt the negative effects of it ALL week long.

You see, the Bible tells us in Psalms 34:8, “O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”

So how do you taste the Lord? Do you actually take a bite out of Him? Is he sweet to the physical taste… or does He taste just like chicken?

No silly… you don’t taste him with your physical senses, but you do allow that spiritual side that is on the inside of us all… to taste, and feel, and connect to the goodness & the abundant peace that comes through Christ Jesus.

…and not only do you taste, but you “consume” the Lord and let him fill you up… just like you would do if you came in from working a hard, 12-hour shift at your job… and you came back home famished… had a 5-course meal that was prepared for you by your spouse… and promptly began to make short work of it, devour it, and allow it to fill up your stomach!

How do you consume the Lord, one might ask?

One way is to simply get into His word to learn more about Him and yourself. People would be surprised, but as you begin to read AND understand the Scriptures, you begin to learn it is NOT a book of “fables” and “stories”, but its real and relevant… and you begin to see yourself in it, and how you can make yourself into a BETTER man or woman by applying the time-tested principles that are in the Bible.

I personally have a One-Year New Testament Bible that has Scriptures broken down each day into New Testament, Proverbs, and Psalms… and can be read in about 5 minutes a day. During my business day, I also saturate myself with good Gospel music and Bible teachings (iTunes are great!)

A second way is to get into a daily prayer with God. People really make prayer VERY difficult, when its not supposed to be difficult, and never was! What prayer is when it comes down to it, is a dialogue between you and your Heavenly Father. Not only do you speak to God, but you stay silent and allow Him to speak back to you too.

After all, would you want to be in a conversation with a person… and they NEVER allow you to get a word in? We’ve all met people like that before, haven’t we?

Well, the same is true for God — allow Him to speak back into your spirit. Just speaking for myself I know when I take the time to pray… I’m doing so because I’m expecting answers and results.

There are many ways to pray to God… but one method that I like that works very well is the ACTS method.

A = Adoration
C = Confession
T = Thanksgiving
S = Supplication

You begin by getting into a quiet place and ADORING him, which means you begin to praise Him for who He is, for His goodness, for His faithfulness to you, for sustaining you, for keeping your family safe, for blessing you with good health, for fearfully & wonderfully creating you, etc.

You continue to go into CONFESSION… meaning you ask him to forgive you for any sins you have committed… and ask Him to give you the strength to overcome any weaknesses you may have in your life (ex. lust, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, laziness, greed, etc.)

Move on into THANKING God for what He has already blessed you with. So many times, we get so wrapped up on what we feel God has not done… that we ignore the awesome deeds that he HAS done for us.

You finish off by SUPPLICATION (intercession)… in which you ask Him to meet your needs and your loved one’s needs. I personally thank Him in expectancy of answered prayers during this time. I thank Him for the health of my family, the peace in my home, for opening up increased & abundant wealth in my business, and EVEN to have a good day!

Whatever methods you use to “taste the Lord” on a daily basis… please just make sure that you keep it consistent. Give yourself a 10-15 minute portion out of the day… that you can devote to God’s Word and prayer… and try it out for the next 30 days.

It will change your life… trust me!

Be blessed and walk in God’s abundance today.
