Why You Should be Thankful to God and Praise Him!

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:4, 5)

Blessings to everyone who follows this blog. I apologize for not updating it for the past couple months… there were some issues going on, on my side… but hey, there is no better time to start doing the right thing like the present!  🙂

Anyways, this morning while I was in prayer… as I typically do, I began to thank God for the blessings He has ALREADY given me… and praise Him for the “little” things he has given to me.

Your heavenly Father & Daddy God LOVES it when when you begin your communication with Him by praising Him and thanking Him for what He has ALREADY given to you.

Praise and Thanksgiving is how you and I are able to “literally” walk into the presence of an ALMIGHTY, an all KNOWING, and an all LOVING God when we are in prayer.

Praise has a special way of breaking things that tend to hold us (such as anger). It has a way of setting us free from things which can have us bound and in bondage (such as unforgiveness). Would you even dare to believe that Praise has a way of giving us hope, in the hopeless and dark times that we all encounter during life?

So you might be asking this question: “Brother Daniel… what you say sounds ALL good and gravy and everything like that, but what have I got to be thankful for? I’m going through a mess right now, I am depressed, the economy is bad, my car broke down… blah, blah, blah”

The real question to ask my friend is this: “What have you NOT got to be thankful for?”

You see, the reality of the situation is this: If you currently live in the United States of America (or any other 1st world country)… you are more financially blessed and taken care of than 97% of the world’s population. By the blessing of God, you are in the TOP 3 percentile of the world.

There are currently people living in countries where they are being murdered, slaughtered, starved to death, being ran out of their homes, persecuted, living in lands ravaged by war… and that’s all on a GOOD day!

So I ask again — what have you NOT got to be thankful to God for?

If you have a roof over your head, clothes on your back, people and family that love you, disposable income, health in your body… you are TRULY blessed of the Lord in GOOD measure… and should take a minute or two to THANK and PRAISE God, for what He has already done for you and your family!

Have a great weekend, and walk in God’s abundance for your life today! Have a comment or question, go ahead and leave them 🙂

When in God… You Have NO Choice But to Succeed!!

“When in God, you have NO choice but to Succeed… you have NO choice but to be a Champion… and you have NO choice but to Overcome!”

Last week… I had a dip in business, and got a bit unmotivated… so to encourage myself, I wrote 4 sentences on one of the whiteboards that are in my office.

These messages were more like declarations and statements of faith for me… and were so AWESOME, that I signed & dated the board underneath the messages (to hold myself accountable to it), and so did three other business professionals who were in my office at the time I wrote that message (a lawyer, an insurance broker, and another pastor).

This was what I wrote:

I Have NO choice but to be SUCCEED!
I Have NO choice but to be a CHAMPION!
I Have NO choice but to OVERCOME!
I Have NO choice but to be WEALTHY!

You see my friend… everyday that we are blessed to live life… we are bombarded on a daily basis with choices that need to be made. Some choices we make will be for our good… and obviously, other choices that are made will not be for our good (that’s a nice way of me saying some choices we make will suck!)

Since we are not God, we do not have control of EVERY single situation that takes place in our lives… (now that’d be great if we did, wouldn’t it?)

But we do have the ability to have control over our MINDSET and MANY of the situations that affect us.

That’s right!! Just like if you’re getting served food on a cafeteria or a buffet line… and the server offers you something you don’t like… you have the authority to refuse that certain food item, don’t you?

The same is true with many of the choices that are set before us. We have the AUTHORITY to say NO, by choices will not include failing. You have the authority to say NO, my choices do not include bankruptcy. You have the authority to say NO, my choices do not include divorce.

Whatever the situation is, you control what items will go on your plate. If you have been following this blog for anytime, you know that one of my personal favorite Scriptures is this:

“You shall declare a thing, and it WILL BE established… and the light of God shall shine down on ALL your ways!” (Job 22:28)

Now, everyday that I enter into that office and look at those statements of faith… I am encouraged to think positively… and know that my choices are limited to only positive choices.

The ball is in your court. Choose this day whether failure, misery, and pain are choices that you want on your platter… or live life ABUNDANTLY, and only leave room for success, joy, and love on your platter.

I personally believe in the POWER of declaration so much, that I am naming my 1st boy who will be here in about 6 weeks… Malachi Champion Wiafe.

Do you think in life, he’s going to really ever doubt he’s anything but a champ? No, I don’t think so either.

My challenge to you is to write your own Statements of Faith… and follow them for at least 30-Days… and let me know how much it has affected your life at the end of that 30-days.

Be blessed in all that you do… and walk in God’s abundance today!

Jesus Has Given Us the KEYS to the Kingdom

A couple days ago… I did a post on ‘How to Take a Strong Man DOWN!‘ and in it… I detailed how Jesus told Peter he would give him the ‘keys to the kingdom’… and then proceeded to give Peter the authority to ‘bind & loose’ things on earth… and it would also be done in heaven.

A friend, who is a reader of the blog asked me a few days ago in so many words or less…. “What does it mean to loose and bind things on earth? Can you give me an example?”

I believe this is a good topic… so let’s dig further. Below, I have the response that I e-mailed back to her (with her name removed for privacy purposes)

Hi xxxxxx,

In reading the whole chapter in context… what Jesus was telling Peter was that, I’m going to give you a way to open up the door & gain access to the POWER that is in the Kingdom of Heaven (I will give you keys 2 the kingdom).

Jesus had told Peter he was going to use like a rock, or foundation… and build his church (God’s People) on Peter.

In order for Jesus to use Peter, the apostles, or any of us for that matter… to a great extent… we MUST be able to walk in power on this earth.

A major thing that Jesus said to people, who doubted that he was God, was the miracles & healing he did. Only God, or someone being used of God… can command the blind to see, the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak, etc.

When it comes to ‘binding’ & ‘loosing’… we have to understand that there are demons on this earth that operate. Sickness & disease… is an example of an unclean spirit. Lust is another example of an unclean spirit.

A clean spirit would include joy, love, peace, mercy, forgiveness, etc.

The Bible tells us that ‘The power of life & death is in our tongue’… and also to ‘Speak those things that be not, as though they are’.

What Jesus is telling us is that we can command spirits (whether they are good or bad) to be BOUND, or to be locked up… or we can command them to be LOOSED, or set free.

Then Jesus takes it one step further by literally saying, that whatever we bind (or loose) here on this earth… HAS ALREADY been bound (or loosed) in heaven.

A good analogy of this would be during a war…. when ground troops (us) go into an enemy war zone and begin fighting, sometimes they cannot clear out the enemy with their guns, tanks, & artillery… so what do they do?

They call for air support (heaven). The air support comes in… drops a bunch of 2-ton bombs on the enemy’s head… and TOTALLY annihilates the enemy.

But the air support only comes… when the ground troops radio in for them, and give them the coordinates of where to drop the bombs.

In that same way… when we are in prayer… and we see things that are amiss such as sickness or unforgiveness, we can bind (or loose) it here on earth… and call for our air support to back us up!

Hope this helps!

Daniel

How to Take a Strong Man DOWN!

Dont let the strong man steal your possessions! You have EVERY right to bind him & take back what is rightfully yours!

Don't let the strong man steal your possessions! You have EVERY right to bind him & take back what is rightfully yours!

For many of us who are male (and possibly even female)… we grew up rough, tough and tumbling everywhere… and it was always a matter of a time in our youth, before someone would challenge you to a friendly (sometimes unfriendly) wrestling match.

While I never wrestled for school… the one thing that I learned is that if you can (1) Take your adversary down to the ground, (2) Be on top, and (3) Lock their arms, legs, and head so they couldn’t move… you would win!

Yes I know… I should’ve been a professional WWF wrestler (lol).

So consider this Scripture:

“Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house!”  (Matthew 12:29)

and…

“I [Jesus] will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)

You see my friend, no matter what you’ve been told or what you believe… Satan is just as real and as present as God is…. and many well-meaning Christian brothers & sisters are leading meager & beaten existences because of this ignorance.

What Jesus is telling us is that you have an enemy whose mission is to ‘steal, kill, and destroy’ and his name is Satan (the strong man).

Now when this strong man comes and strong arms you… and steals your possessions (your joy, your peace, your health, your family, your faith, your finances, etc.)… are you just going to sit there like a punk, and let him walk away with what is yours?

…or are you going to go down to his house, kick down the strong man’s door, slap him around, and take back what is God given and rightfully yours?

Sometimes, we must get out of the role of being too passive… and get a ‘holy anger’ when we see our things getting stolen from us… and right under our noses.

After all, if someone broke into your car and stole your stereo… or if someone broke into your house in the middle of the night and kidnapped your child… are you just going to sit there quietly & sing a nice hymn?

No, by all means you’re going to get up & take action!

…and God tells us that the only way to “rob the strong man” is to tie him up, or bind him. Aren’t you glad that Jesus tells us that “whatsoever we BIND on earth, has already been BOUND in heaven”?

I believe what that means to us, is that just like the local police… we have an authority from our superiors up high (Heaven)… to slap handcuffs on any demon or spirit that breaks the law.

So this week, when (or if) you see things being stolen from you, whether they are tangible or intangible… go ahead and bind up the thief with the words of your mouth… and declare those things that are not, as though they are!

Get on top of Satan this week, and bind him up in a spiritual headlock, and throw him on the ground. He’s been beating up on you… so it’s only right that you turn the tables on him every once in awhile!

Let me know what you think… I love all your comments….

Random Acts of Kindness

This is a guest post by my friend, fellow blogger Jasper Nhira.

Have you ever MET someone who was MEAN and unkind to YOU, for NO APPARENT REASON? You did all you could to MAKE them feel COMFORTABLE but it seemed as if they GOT more and more UNKIND as time PASSED. I’ve GOT news for you; EVERYONE’S FIGHTING a HARD BATTLE.

Philo said, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”

Researchers have CONCLUDED that 20% of the people you ENCOUNTER won’t like YOU, no questions asked. Does that GIVE you the RIGHT to RECIPROCATE their DISDAIN towards YOU? I would say NO, ESPECIALLY if YOUR a CHRISTIAN.

Luke 6:31 says, “DO to others as YOU WOULD HAVE them DO TO YOU.” NOT “Do to others as THEY HAVE DONE to YOU.”

Mignon McLaughlin said, “Don’t be yourself – be someone a little nicer.” When YOU’RE MISTREATED by people HOW DO YOU REACT to THEM? (BE HONEST).

Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” ARE YOU KIND, COMPASSIONATE, AND FORGIVING?

DID you know that KINDNESS is the most powerful WEAPON you have against YOUR ENEMY? Really, Jasper? Explain.

When someone isn’t KIND to you DESPITE your attempts to be KIND to them, the last thing they expect from YOU is CONTINUED KINDNESS.

Most of the time, when someone is UNKIND to you THEY’RE looking for a way to ‘GET IN YOUR HEAD’ or to make you feel INFERIOR. GUESS WHAT? YOU ONLY LOOSE WHEN you RECIPROCATE their UNKINDNESS.

You’re a CHILD of the MOST HIGH GOD and You should KNOW who you ARE in CHRIST; THEREFORE your ACTIONS shouldn’t be guided BY the way OTHERS TREAT YOU or the REACTION your FLESH wants to GIVE those who are UNKIND to YOU.

You know what? WHEN PEOPLE are UNKIND to you it SHOULD be an INDICATOR that they’re having a HARD time and are unable to DEAL with their EMOTIONS PRODUCTIVELY. That’s your CUE to INSERT KINDNESS.

I want to POISE a VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: If you were arrested for kindness, would there be enough evidence to convict you? I’d hope so.

When YOU enter a room do people think, “THERE goes……. ALL they do is complain and their so MEAN. OR do people say, “Oh goodness there goes…… I hope they come and talk to US. I always feel GOOD after speaking to them.”

Aesop once said, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
You have to make it a POINT TO leave a legacy of KINDNESS and PEACE in EVERY LIFE you ENCOUNTER.

Mother Theresa said it best, “Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”

“If someone is too tired to give you a smile, leave one of your own, because no one needs a smile as much as those who have none to give.” – Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch

You have the ABILITY to make a difference in the LIVES of MANY through the ACTS of KINDNESS you PERPETRATE. Seneca once said, “Wherever there is a human being there is an opportunity for a kindness.”

KINDNESS, as everything ELSE in LIFE, is a CHOICE.

“Jasper?”

“Yes FRIEND?”

“How do I CHOOSE to be KIND even to those who don’t deserve it?”

IT’S SIMPLE, CHANGE YOUR MINDSET. To What?

TO this: GOD YOU sent YOUR only SON JESUS to DIE for Me WHEN I DIDN’T deserve HIM, SO from today until FOREVER I CHOOSE to be KIND to EVERYONE even when they don’t DESERVE IT.

Some WORDS of WISDOM from George Sand, before I GO, “Guard well within yourself that treasure, kindness. Know how to give without HESITATION, how to lose without REGRET, how to acquire without MEANNESS.”

Take COMMAND of Your Worship!

It should NEVER be a bore, a chore, or a bother to worship God… or to come to His house.

David wasn’t ashamed when he cried out in Psalm 100:4, “Enter His gates with THANKSGIVING… and into His courts with PRAISE; Give thanks to Him and praise His name!”

There should always be within us a sense of joy, a feeling of excitement, a knowledge of expectancy whenever we enter into the presence of God… be it in your daily time that you spend with him, be it when you go to the worship service at your church, wherever…. it doesn’t matter!

Because when we come into a real worship encounter with God… you’ve not just come to play games, or to take part in a weekly religious tradition, or to be seen by other people… you’ve come to meet the Creator of your body, the Author of your life, the Healer of your body, and the Savior of your soul.

Watch this:

Being in the marketing and advertising industry, I am trained to know how powerful the effect of our words are. The smoother I write my words, the more I can convince people to buy the products/services I promote… and the more money I make. On the flip side, if I write terribly, well… umm…. I eat Ramen Noodles and hot dogs for that week.

FACT: A good marketer can hypnotize you into such a deep trance with the words they write or say… that they can literally empty your pocket of all the cash you have… and clean your bank account out!

So you can see how surprised I was, when I read a church advertisement last weekend telling people to “Don’t stay home this Sunday… come to our church and give God his time for the week, you owe it to Him”

SAY WHAT!??

We should NEVER think of worshiping God as some type of community service that we are FORCED to do… because we were found guilty of some wrongdoing throughout the week.
God does not need our time… but we DO need His time!

Every morning that we wake up… we should literally COMMAND ourselves to worship God. Worship is defined as, “loving unquestioningly and excessively”. We should be glad and excited to be in his presence.

That same immediate feeling you get when you eat a bunch of chocolate candy bars… and wash it down with a big glass of red Kool-Aid… should be the same HIGH feeling you get when you worship God — except with the latter, you won’t have a “sugar crash”

Command yourself to worship the Lord, your God… every morning that He blesses you to have breath in your body, a roof over your head, and clothes on your back!

Until next time, be blessed… and walk in God’s abundance today!

Build Up the Kingdom of God… in Your Own “Little” Way

Be a BUILDER of Gods Kingdom!

Be a BUILDER of God's Kingdom!

I was recently reading Luke 19:11-27 last week… in which it gave one account on a particular parable that Jesus told to the people.

This was the parable of the Ten Minas (some Gospels described it as the Parable of Talents).

In this story, Jesus told of how a man of noble birth (himself), was sent to a distant country to become king over the land (us). When the nobleman & future king arrived… he called 10 servants… and gave them each 10 minas, and gave them explicit instructions to, “…put this money to work until I come back!”

When the king returned back home… one servant earned 10 MORE mina with what was given to him, so he was BLESSED with being put in charge over 10 cities.

Another servant earned 5 MORE mina with what was given to him, and he received 5 cities.

A third servant told the king, “Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth…. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.”

Shockingly… the master called this goofball wicked, because whether it was fear that compelled him, or whether it was laziness that compelled him… the servant did NOT build up the kingdom.

And the story gets juicier! The 10 minas that this third servant had… was snatched away from him, and given to the first servant (Remember him? He was the guy who was put in charge over 10 cities)

The king ends by saying, “I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given… but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.”

I sincerely believe that the lesson we can pull away from this is that Jesus has blessed us all with different talents… and to different degrees.

One person may be very talented at making money… or very talented at preaching or teaching. One person may be excellent with children and teenagers… and another person may have a knack for administration and management.

A person over there might be able to sing the paint off of the walls… while you couldn’t hum a tune well enough to save your life, but you’re an excellent worker, and can paint those walls like nobody else.

Some are blessed athletically, some are talented when it comes to counseling and giving advice… there are probably a million and one different talents that are out there in the world.

But whatever your talent is… use it to build up the Kingdom of God. It definitely does not matter if you’re in a church setting… use your talents to glorify Jesus in your daily life.

Even if it’s just a small act that you… remember, a solid and indestructible wall, is built ONE brick at a time.

I believe that many times, we think that the only “good talents” are the ones that are used in church… but it is my strong, personal belief… that church is a training ground for us to get replenished and polish off our God given talents… and to be used as we go out into the world and win it for Christ!

Until tomorrow, be blessed and prosperous… and walk in God’s abundance today!

Be a HELPER, Not an Enabler

FACT: In the Kingdom of God… we have far too many people who are “too nice”

That was pretty shocking to read from a preacher, wasn’t it?

But it is true… there are far too many people out there… who out of the love that is in their heart for their families, friends, and others… will bail them out of trouble time after time… after time again.

…and instead of helping that family member or friend, that person is inadvertantly destroying them with their love.

A person like this is called an enabler. An enabler is simply defined as, “One who does for someone else… things that the OTHER person should be doing and can do, for themselves.”

As Kingdom people… we are called to help each other out. But in helping, we must never “enable” someone to continue to act and move in a path of self-destruction.

A helper is defined as, “One who does something for someone that they are NOT capable of doing themselves.”

King Solomon, the wisest man of all times declared, “A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty; if you rescue him, you will have to do it AGAIN.”  (Proverbs 19:19)

Sometimes… the best love we can show to our hurting friends & family members is to allow them to receive the penalty that is due for their actions.

Many times, this is tough for us to endure through… watching someone get locked up in jail, or getting evicted out of their house, or suffering through a bad relationship… but at times, this is what is needed to knock sense into a person’s head.

Sometimes the best solution after repeatedly dealing with loved ones is for us to close up our wallets, close up our mouths, and close up our homes, until that person gets it.

Because if you keep on bailing people out of trouble repeatedly… you will have to do it for the rest of your life… which is NO fair to you, and does not help that person in the long-term.

Until next time, be blessed… and walk in God’s abundance for your life today.

Jesus Can Reach the Unreachable!

Did you know that it doesn’t matter to Jesus what your past looks like… it doesn’t matter to Him how crazy you acted like back in the day… and it definitely doesn’t matter to Him how much trouble you got into back in the day… AS LONG AS YOU COME TO HIM!

There are many people who I have encountered in life… who love the Lord with all their hearts, and desperately want to be in His good grace… but are mistakenly convinced that their rocky past is so BAD, that it excludes them from the Kingdom of God… and gives them front row seats in the bowels of hell.

They think that because they used to prostitute… or because they used to cheat people… or because they had abortions in the past… or because they used to be a drug pusher…. or because they literally destroyed a loved one emotionally by their actions… that the salvation of Jesus Christ is out of their reach.

But the GOOD NEWS is this…

ALL have sinned… and EVERYBODY has fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)… but the GIFT of God to you is everlasting life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23).

You see friend, a gift (when given in the right way) is given to one person from another… without the expectancy of anything from you.

When Christ died on the cross for all of us… and became the PERFECT sacrifice and replacement for all of our past, present, and future sins… He didn’t expect you to have lived a perfect life. No, perfection was in Him, and in Him alone.

Turn from your past guilt and shame right now… and don’t allow it to shackle you and weigh you down any longer. When you fully 100% come to Christ, you don’t need to wrestle with the guilt of last year… or the shame of your childhood.

There is nothing… and I repeat NOTHING…. that can separate you from the love of God.

There is nothing in this world that you, anybody else, or I could have ever done in life… even at our lowest and darkest moments… that would put us out of the reach of an all-loving & all-forgiving God.

The Bible declares, “If you confess that Jesus is your Lord… and believe that God has raised him from the dead… YOU WILL BE SAVED” (Romans 10:9, 10)

Don’t allow the past to burden or hold you any longer… but put your faith in Jesus, who is still alive & powerful today.

Perhaps this message wasn’t for you… then that’s good. But it IS for someone else that you know… and I URGE you to forward this message to them right now.

Until next time, be blessed… and walk in God’s abundance for your life today.

Having the Mindset of a Millionaire #4 (Take Action!)

Take Action!

Take Action!

Happy Friday to you!

Today is the fourth post in our Financial Fridays series… in which we will devote this blog to covering wealth, finances, and money… all from a Godly perspective.

On the previous Friday, we talked about having a Millionaire Mindset… and the 4 IMPORTANT principles I personally have used to help my household attain financial freedom.

(1) Not Going Back to Crap!
(2) Educating Yourself!
(3) Believing in Yourself!
(4) Taking Action!

—-

Taking Action

Millionaires and those who are wealthy take action. They do not sleep on an idea. They do not get overly fearful… they simply do the only thing that they know how to do — which is to act, and act decisively!

Consider the following verse:

‘But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith BY WHAT I DO!’  (James 2:18)

People who do well financially are those who are not afraid to take chances or run away from the risks of life… but welcome them with a smile! As in most cases in life, the bigger the risk you take… the bigger the reward that is available for you. When you are able to fearlessly pursue opportunities that are before you… you will undoubtedly be rewarded financially.

It might not be tomorrow, it might not be next week or month, but I can guarantee you… those who take calculated risks… are able to receive bigger rewards in life!

DISCLAIMER:
Obviously I am not saying to be a fool… or a gambler… and take uncalculated risks. The very nature of anyone of us taking a risk… is that along with a chance of us getting a reward, we can also lose something.

So never take an uncalculated risk… and never take a risk that you cannot afford to take!

*Wheeew* That said, I can move on with this post… know that you’re not going to go to Las Vegas this weekend, and bet the whole farm… and lose it!

So you have a GREAT business idea? Or perhaps God has placed something awesome in your spirit for you to accomplish?

Get started right now and put some action into it. Don’t sit on the idea, don’t shelf it, because you will forget it… and the Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 9:11 that “…time and chance happen to us all!”

When your chance comes in due time… ACT on it, or it will leave you and move to someone else who is ready to take action.

Move right now. Put out applications to that job you want, but are underqualified for! Fill out grants for that non-profit business you want to start. Write a business plan for that future million-dollar business you want to start! Go online and order yourself up some business cards…. for that business you haven’t even started up yet!

In doing this… you are displaying a huge act of faith, by putting action behind it!

Be blessed this weekend and let me know what you think… your comments are appreciated!
