A Friend

A friend is a person whom you want to have near when you are dying. And whom you like to be with while you are living; To whom you spontaneously turn for help when you are in trouble. And who is the first to hear the good news when you have good fortune; Whose counsel you seek when you are perplexed. And whose congratulations you welcome when the perplexity is solved; In whom you can confide the secret you want no other living soul to know.

Yet will never pry into your heart to discover whether there are any more secrets to be revealed; On whom you can lean when your heart aches. But who will never take advantage of your leaning; Who will get down on his knees beside you when you are down. And forget that he did so when you are on your feet again; And whose shoulder you can weep when you are sad. And with whom you enjoy laughing when you are glad; Who has a tear on his cheek when you suffer.

And a twinkle in his eye when the sun shines on you again; Who has pain in his tone when you are in distress. And melody in his voice when your heart is gay; Who admires you for your strong points. But loves you in spite of your weak ones; Who can laugh at your foibles. Without despising you for having them; Who makes allowance for your limitations. Without allowing them to obscure your talents; Who is proud of you when fortune favors you. But not ashamed of you when you fail; Who contributes to your success without claiming any share in it. Who can feel and show satisfaction when you please him.

But never resentment when you disappoint him; Who will tell you the truth even when it hurts. And to whom you can tell the truth without his taking offense; Who is not ashamed to ask you a favor even at the risk of being imposed upon. Who can extend a helping hand and lighten your load Without expecting any other reward than having had the privilege of so doing; Who gives all he can whenever he can. Without ever keeping a record of what he has given; Who says the best about you when everybody else is saying the worst.

Any person needs at least four such friends; Every person owes it to himself to be such a friend to at least four fellow humans. God help me to be such a friend.

When in God… You Have NO Choice But to Succeed!!

“When in God, you have NO choice but to Succeed… you have NO choice but to be a Champion… and you have NO choice but to Overcome!”

Last week… I had a dip in business, and got a bit unmotivated… so to encourage myself, I wrote 4 sentences on one of the whiteboards that are in my office.

These messages were more like declarations and statements of faith for me… and were so AWESOME, that I signed & dated the board underneath the messages (to hold myself accountable to it), and so did three other business professionals who were in my office at the time I wrote that message (a lawyer, an insurance broker, and another pastor).

This was what I wrote:

I Have NO choice but to be SUCCEED!
I Have NO choice but to be a CHAMPION!
I Have NO choice but to OVERCOME!
I Have NO choice but to be WEALTHY!

You see my friend… everyday that we are blessed to live life… we are bombarded on a daily basis with choices that need to be made. Some choices we make will be for our good… and obviously, other choices that are made will not be for our good (that’s a nice way of me saying some choices we make will suck!)

Since we are not God, we do not have control of EVERY single situation that takes place in our lives… (now that’d be great if we did, wouldn’t it?)

But we do have the ability to have control over our MINDSET and MANY of the situations that affect us.

That’s right!! Just like if you’re getting served food on a cafeteria or a buffet line… and the server offers you something you don’t like… you have the authority to refuse that certain food item, don’t you?

The same is true with many of the choices that are set before us. We have the AUTHORITY to say NO, by choices will not include failing. You have the authority to say NO, my choices do not include bankruptcy. You have the authority to say NO, my choices do not include divorce.

Whatever the situation is, you control what items will go on your plate. If you have been following this blog for anytime, you know that one of my personal favorite Scriptures is this:

“You shall declare a thing, and it WILL BE established… and the light of God shall shine down on ALL your ways!” (Job 22:28)

Now, everyday that I enter into that office and look at those statements of faith… I am encouraged to think positively… and know that my choices are limited to only positive choices.

The ball is in your court. Choose this day whether failure, misery, and pain are choices that you want on your platter… or live life ABUNDANTLY, and only leave room for success, joy, and love on your platter.

I personally believe in the POWER of declaration so much, that I am naming my 1st boy who will be here in about 6 weeks… Malachi Champion Wiafe.

Do you think in life, he’s going to really ever doubt he’s anything but a champ? No, I don’t think so either.

My challenge to you is to write your own Statements of Faith… and follow them for at least 30-Days… and let me know how much it has affected your life at the end of that 30-days.

Be blessed in all that you do… and walk in God’s abundance today!

Rock the Boat – Jesus Can Get You Out of ANY Trouble!

When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough.

When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

(John 6:16-21)

The disciples were in a rough, hard, and terrifying situation… being out there on that dark night all by themselves on the Sea of Galilee.

I can imagine the reaction of the disciples when they looked up…. and saw Jesus walking across over 3 miles of water and reaching them.

We all have “Seas of Galilee” in our lives, whether it is financial in nature… whether it is in our relationships… whether it is in your health… we all have “rough & choppy” seasons in our lives where we can’t seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Jesus showed his disciples a few things that I believe that we can all learn from.

What Jesus proved to them in that circumstance was two-fold:

(1)  There is NO problem too big for Jesus — After all, he walked across three miles of water… he created the whole earth & the fullness of it all, so that means there is NOTHING we can go through that is too big for him!

(2) Welcome Jesus into your problems — After the disciples welcomed Jesus into the boat, the Bible says the disciples “immediately” reached their destination. When we welcome Jesus into our problems, issues, and circumstances; we can EXPECT him to get us to that light at the end of a long tunnel!

When you put your trust in the Lord and put all your faith & troubles on Him.. He WILL by all means get you through the rough and choppy turns of life.

Be blessed today and walk in God’s abundance today!

Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE for the Man or Woman of God!

For some of us... solving a Rubicks cube is IMPOSSIBLE! But when you place problems in Gods hands, NOTHING is impossible!

For some of us... solving a Rubick's cube is "IMPOSSIBLE"! But when you place problems in God's hands, NOTHING is impossible!

Blessings to all of you guys all across the world who are reading this Christian inspirational blog… and HAPPY Monday to you all!

By next week… we should be rolling out TodayAbundance 2.0, which will be a social community of “Christians Inspiring Christians”. All together across the Daily Jesus Inspiration fan page, FB group, & the TodayAbundance blog… we currently have 15,000+ members worldwide, and are excited to see what will happen when we get EVERYONE into one place!

I know that starting a new work or school week can be rough and tough for many of you all… and at times you can feel very weary about starting that new week… and for some of you — you feel it will be IMPOSSIBLE for you to get through this week joyfully.

But I am reminded of what the Word of God said to His disciples a little while back (well, more like a couple thousand years ago).

Jesus had been approached by a rich, young man (in Matthew 19:16-30) who was VERY wealthy… and this guy wanted to know the “secret” to inheriting eternal life.

Now in this day and age… I personally believe that a young person with a bankful of cash such as himself (maybe in his late teens, early twenties) who was searching for God… rather than trying to “live it up” in life with all of his money… by indulging in sex, women, drugs, etc. is really a champ. He truly knew that true wealth comes from inheriting eternal life!

Anyways, Jesus asks this young man a series of questions… and line by line asks the man if he had kept certain commandments from the Law of Moses (10 commandments).

The young man proudly answered ‘Yes’ to each of the questions Jesus posed to him.

…and I can see this young guy sticking his chest out, proud of the fact that he hadn’t killed anyone (Do not murder), proud of the fact that he hadn’t slept with another man’s wife (Do not commit adultery), and proud of the fact that he didn’t disrespect his parents (Honor your mother & father).

But let’s be real with ourselves for a second — how easy is it for us to keep those commandments? Yes, it’s pretty easy… last time I checked, I haven’t killed anyone either  (o:

So Jesus finally drops a bomb on this young man by telling him, “One thing you lack — if you want to be PERFECT, go sell your possessions and give the proceeds to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. THEN come and follow me!”

“Uh-oh!” thinks this young, wealthy man. “I can do all the other stuff you asked me… but selling all of my possessions? That’s kind of hard!”

…and the young man walked away dejected and feeling rejected, because he had ALL that wealth… and was not willing to part with it, to follow Jesus.

Jesus tells his disciples that it is easier for a camel to enter in through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven (some translations state it is hard for those who ‘trust in riches’ to enter in).

The disciples, thinking that this man was blessed of God because of his outwardly looks (the wealth) were dismayed… because if this guy couldn’t get in… how could they get in?

And Jesus tells them something that we can all hold and run with this week… and for the rest of our lives!

“With man it is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible!” (Matthew 19:26)

Jesus was NOT saying that money or amassing wealth is bad — but if it gets in your way of gaining access & fellowship to Jesus, you need to cut it out of your life.

What he IS saying, however, is that the man or the woman of God who seeks to place his or faith in an all loving, all knowing, & all caring God… not only will inherit the Kingdom of God… but will by no means be able to be STOPPED from moving further in life… or attaining higher heights in your journey on this earth.

You can only get SO far in your life without God based solely on your own strength and talents… but when you put your impossibilities into the hands of an Almighty God… there are NO impossibilities!

Let me know what you think… and be blessed with the rest of your week & God bless you!

But for those of you who want some current inspiration….
Emotions are an area that many Christians don’t understand. Because of this, Believers often allow their emotions to lead them. As a result, emotionally-led decisions take them on a course that is out of the will of God for their lives. While God gave every human being emotions, it is critical that we get control over negative emotions and subject them to the Word of God. Make these daily confessions so that you can subject your feelings to God’s Word and make the right decisions:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me healthy emotions. I declare that negative emotions will not impact my decisions, neither will they dictate my responses to difficult circumstances.

I will submit my feelings to You in every situation that I encounter in life. You have given me authority over the power of the enemy, and I declare that nothing shall by any means hurt me, including people and situations that try to negatively influence my emotions.

When I feel overwhelmed by life, or troubled by negative emotions, like Jesus, I will pray and keep moving forward. I bind depression, anxiety, worry, fear, doubt, anger, rejection and any other negative emotion that tries to attack my mind. I possess power, love and a sound mind.

I thank You, Father, that I walk in peace, joy and the comfort of the Holy Ghost. I have the mind of Christ and my emotions are controlled by the Word of God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Freedom from Accusation

Are you Innocent or Guilty in the Courtroom of God?

Are you Innocent or Guilty in the Courtroom of God?

Read the following passage in Colossians 1:15-23

He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

The Bible tells us that Satan is “the accuser of the brethren”… meaning that he stands all day “accusing” us before God and even amongst our own selves.

Accusation is defined as ‘leveling charges against someone… or a formal charge of wrongdoing”.

Satan’s job is to be a prosecutor in the courtroom of God… and accuse us of our past wrongdoings and sins before the Almighty Judge. He likes to point the finger at us, telling us where we fell short at… and to convince us to remain in our guilt… and I believe that the guy does a great job at doing that!

But my question to you all is this…. “If God forgives you of your sins, why are you still tripping?”

You see, Jesus is your advocate and your defense lawyer… who has already PAID THE PRICE for your legal defense. He does not collect a retainer from you, but he’s a BETTER lawyer than a thousand Johnny Cochrans & Perry Masons put together!

WHY do we still blame ourselves and stick to our sins… when God tells us that, “… I will remember their sins NO MORE.” (Hebrews 8:12)

The Judge who decides whether you are guilty and deservant of a death sentence (hell), has ALREADY come to a decision that you are INNOCENT… as long as your faith is put in Jesus, your lawyer… and you are free!

You have TOTAL freedom from the past and whatever you did wrong in your life… so walk in the freedom that Christ Jesus gives you. Once you were alienated from God… but through the shed blood of Jesus, we are all reconciled (brought back into a PERFECT relationship) with God… and that’s the final verdict!

Let me know what you think, comments are very much appreciated.  (o:

Your Faith Will Make You Whole!

Read this following passage about a blind beggar who had a run in with the Master!

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”

He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”.

“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.

Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

Luke 18:35-43

The issue that this man had was that he was blind and couldn’t see… and the solution was Jesus, the Word of God… who came stepping into this beggar’s neighborhood.

The Bible tells us that he CRIED out to Jesus, probably in despair… and all those good folks around him basically told him to, “Shut up!”.

…but this man wasn’t about to let a few haters rob him of his chance to get to the Word and receive his healing. The man cried out EVEN louder… even at the risk of being embarrassed around his associates, neighbors, and friends… and kept on crying out until Jesus stopped & answered him.

It was obvious what this man needed healing for… everyone could see he was BLIND! But yet Jesus still asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”….

When we are dealing with issues in our lives, that we come to Jesus needing healing for… be it healing in our physical bodies… or healing in our minds from depression or mental conditions… or if its healing in our marriages & relationships… we MUST be specific about what we WANT in our prayer!

Don’t think that you’re asking too much in prayer… or that you’re being too “greedy” in prayer. Your Heavenly Father owns ALL the silver and gold in this world… and there is NOTHING that is too large for Him to accomplish!

…and at the end of the day, the blind beggar got the sight and the miracle that he desired. Jesus’ final response to this man was, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”

The man believed that he could receive his sight by 100% faith… and received it! You have probably heard it millions of times before… but ANYTHING is possible to you, if you can believe it… and have the faith to see it!

When you are in prayer and praying for something… act, believe, and confess like you’ve ALREADY got it. Begin to thank God for your healing in your body (even though you still may be feeling pain).

Begin to thank God for renewing the relationship bond between you and a sibling that you had in the past, but was damaged years ago because of an event far in the past (even though you haven’t talked to them for years).

Begin to act like that thing you so desire, is already here… and you will by all means receive it!

Until next time, be blessed… and walk in God’s abundance for your life today.

Jesus Can Reach the Unreachable!

Did you know that it doesn’t matter to Jesus what your past looks like… it doesn’t matter to Him how crazy you acted like back in the day… and it definitely doesn’t matter to Him how much trouble you got into back in the day… AS LONG AS YOU COME TO HIM!

There are many people who I have encountered in life… who love the Lord with all their hearts, and desperately want to be in His good grace… but are mistakenly convinced that their rocky past is so BAD, that it excludes them from the Kingdom of God… and gives them front row seats in the bowels of hell.

They think that because they used to prostitute… or because they used to cheat people… or because they had abortions in the past… or because they used to be a drug pusher…. or because they literally destroyed a loved one emotionally by their actions… that the salvation of Jesus Christ is out of their reach.

But the GOOD NEWS is this…

ALL have sinned… and EVERYBODY has fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)… but the GIFT of God to you is everlasting life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23).

You see friend, a gift (when given in the right way) is given to one person from another… without the expectancy of anything from you.

When Christ died on the cross for all of us… and became the PERFECT sacrifice and replacement for all of our past, present, and future sins… He didn’t expect you to have lived a perfect life. No, perfection was in Him, and in Him alone.

Turn from your past guilt and shame right now… and don’t allow it to shackle you and weigh you down any longer. When you fully 100% come to Christ, you don’t need to wrestle with the guilt of last year… or the shame of your childhood.

There is nothing… and I repeat NOTHING…. that can separate you from the love of God.

There is nothing in this world that you, anybody else, or I could have ever done in life… even at our lowest and darkest moments… that would put us out of the reach of an all-loving & all-forgiving God.

The Bible declares, “If you confess that Jesus is your Lord… and believe that God has raised him from the dead… YOU WILL BE SAVED” (Romans 10:9, 10)

Don’t allow the past to burden or hold you any longer… but put your faith in Jesus, who is still alive & powerful today.

Perhaps this message wasn’t for you… then that’s good. But it IS for someone else that you know… and I URGE you to forward this message to them right now.

Until next time, be blessed… and walk in God’s abundance for your life today.

Stay on the Ship

Last year I flew out to San Francisco, CA from Tulsa, OK on a business trip… and shockingly had to make 2 stops along the way to switch planes.

One of those stops was in Fresno, CA (which is about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco). The plane that I got on was a pitifully tiny airplane… that looked like a crash waiting to happen. It was so small & rickety, I don’t think calling it an airplane would do it justice… it was more like a “prayer-plane”… meaning you better say your prayers before you take off in it!

Anyways… as expected, the flight was EXTREMELY bumpy and scary… and it got that much worse as we started to descend across San Francisco bay towards the airport. The winds were so fierce as we flew in…. that it repeatedly knocked the plane sideways as we came in.

Looking down at the bay that had a few windsurfers surfing the waters… I figured we were probably no more than a quarter-mile away from the beach… so worst come to worst I could swim should we crash! (lol)

…then as if he was reading my mind, the gentleman sitting across the aisle reached across and told me that those windsurfers shouldn’t be surfing those waters… because sharks come into the bay from the Pacific Ocean!

It was at that point that I decided that the plane was the SAFEST and the ONLY place for me to be in — through the windy conditions, through the fear, through the storm, and even if we were to crash into the ocean (*knock in wood*).

You see my friend, a plane is a type of ship. A ship is simply defined as, “A vessel which is designed to take a person or cargo from ONE destination or state… to another.”

The Word of God… is also a ship.

It is designed to safely take us from one state… to another! You can be in a state of poverty… and God’s word will take you into a state of abundance!

You can be in a state of sickness and disease… and God’s word will take you into a state of healing!

You can be in a state of despair… and God’s word will take you into a state of hope!

….as long as you STAY IN THE SHIP, which is the Word of God… and don’t jump overboard, you WILL be kept safe. You will be kept in one piece.

In Acts 27… Paul was taken prisoner… and was being transported from Jerusalem to Rome by ship across the sea… which was a 2,100 mile journey (the same distance as going from Atlanta to Los Angeles).

Before they had departed… Paul informed the captain of the ship that the journey would be perilous… and of course, the captain ignored his advice. Two weeks into their journey… a storm of hurricane intensity crashed down on top of that ship with it’s 276 passengers.

Yeah you’re right — they should’ve listened to Paul!

Paul speaking by knowledge of the Holy Ghost, told the captain that everyone must STAY ON THE SHIP if they want to be saved… and if they did, “not a hair would be harmed on anyone’s head”.

They wisely listened to Paul’s advice… and ALL the men were saved…. because they stayed on the ship!

So this week… if you are going through trying times, and you feel like jumping out of the ship (which is the Word of God)… don’t do it! It can be scary sometimes in the storm. It can be be dreadful when you’re in the midst of a hurricane sweeping through your life…

…but STAY ON THE SHIP which is the Word of God… and it will safely transport you to where you need to be at in life!

Blessings to you, and walk in God’s abundance today!

You’re NEVER too Old to Walk Into Your Destiny!

Many times… I receive private notes and messages from members of this blog and the Facebook group that REALLY inspire and encourage me!

There is one message that I received last week from a good friend… that was especially powerful and really stuck in my spirit. I believe it will INSPIRE everyone on this board!

For privacy reasons, I will not reveal her real name… but we will call her Shari…. and she has agreed to let me publish this note to inspire everyone. Enjoy!

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for the WORD in due season!
I really needed that word.
I am really needing to push through the “fear of failure
I have struggled with ALL my life.

It has stopped me from pursuing anything worth while and has kept me in bondage to the “safe route” which keeps me working as a cashier where I count the seconds to go home and keeps me from pursuing something fun and creative like photography or creating my own greeting cards.

It is interesting that just the other day I found an interesting envelope. My dad passed away over a year ago and we have purchased his home, there are still remnants of his life here and there.

I found in some of his things the other day his application for an art correspondance school that he had applied for. he did follow through and graduated from the course. But what I found interesting was what he wrote on the application.

The question was:
I would like to become a successful artist because __________________

He wrote:
“I want to have a larger income and I don’t want to be a truck driver for the rest of my life.”

At the time, he was 25 years old.

He was a truck driver until he retired at the age of 60.

This made me sad, and also caused me to ponder my own life. 44 years old and STILL a cashier…

WHY? you ask… FEAR of FAILURE !!

WOW eee !!

Fortunately the last couple of years of my dad’s life were spent in a building that was partial care but independent living ( he needed help because of a bad heart ) where the people were exposed to dad’s paintng and art work and they LOVED it !

His apartment became an ART studio, all you could smell was oil paint when you walked in. There were paintings wall papering the walls and lining his floors.

He began to sell his work to those that really enjoyed it.

The last painting on his easel was a ballerina, the last three he painted were ALL ballerinas. It was VERY important to me that I could keep the last one.

I felt it was a sign that he believed in me to pursue my dreams and that YES ! I would dance again.

Anyways, he “could have” had many more years if he would have taken his dreams seriously.

I do not want to wait till it is TOO LATE to pursue my dreams. I have been in a GREAT battle recently to follow my heart… and to hear what I really desire, and not the lies of the enemy with all the reasons why I can’t.

Anyways, Thanks again for such a timely word.

BIG BLESSINGS to YOU and your family!

Remember… as long as you’re still breathing, you’re NEVER to old to accomplish great things!
