I Once Was Blind… and Know I Can See!

“When you stop looking at the world with your eyes… and start looking with your FAITH… then you will no longer be blind”  – Daniel Wiafe, Jr.

When we wake up in the morning… and taking it for granted that you don’t sleep in late every single day… and also taking it for granted, you agree with the philosophy of Benjamin Franklin (early to bed, early to rise; makes a man, healthy, wealthy, and wise)… then you will find yourself waking up and opening your eyes up to a dark and a dim world.

Your vision is blurred… and the environment around you is dark and dim… even with your eyes fully open. It is only when you turn on the LIGHT… or open up the curtains and let the sunlight ILLUMINATE your room… that you will TRULY be able to see!

The same is true with our faith. Have you ever wondered how some people are able to make it through severe and unexpected tragedy and losses in life… the type of drama that would cause many of the strongest among us to bow down to the spirit of depression… and give up?

Have you ever wondered how some people, who are down to their dying days... due to an aggressive cancer that is eating away and ravaging their bodies… can all of a sudden be completely healed in their body by faith in Jesus… and their organs have literally regenerated themselves?

It’s all because these people can literally SEE with eyes of faith. They are NOT moved… or swayed… or shaken by what they “see” with their natural eyes. They only believe and are moved by what they see by faith.

When you have eyes of faith… you set your eyes on Jesus, who is the author and the finisher of your faith… and then all of a sudden, the “impossible” becomes possible… and the “unreachable” becomes reachable!

So how do we see with eyes of faith, you might ask?

It’s actually a pretty simple formula. I have personally had the blessing to see people healed physically in their bodies and emotionally through the power of God… and I have also had the pleasure of seeing what seemed like mountains that were set in my life to block me from my future, become instant mole hills that I could step over… by using this formula.

Here goes…

1. Begin to visualize in your mind that result that you want or need. In the case of sickness and disease… begin to imagine and actually SEE yourself in your mind, healed. If you continue to SEE yourself as sick, guess what — you will REMAIN sick.

If your business is failing… begin to see customers come in and visualize your sales going up. Stop seeing your business as broke and penniless, and start seeing it as being wealthy!

2. Understand that the man or the woman of God who sees with eyes of faith isn’t limited to what can be seen, heard, or felt at the present state… but they sight goes much further… and can see where they’ll be at in the future.

3. Help to strengthen your vision… by getting pictures of that result you are expecting. Cut out pictures of where you see yourself… and hang them on your wall.

4. Last but not least, know that your Lord Jesus is in agreement with your faith… and believe it.

Let me know what you think… comments are ALWAYS welcomed. Be blessed today, and walk in God’s richness and abundance today!

Rock the Boat – Jesus Can Get You Out of ANY Trouble!

When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough.

When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

(John 6:16-21)

—-

The disciples were in a rough, hard, and terrifying situation… being out there on that dark night all by themselves on the Sea of Galilee.

I can imagine the reaction of the disciples when they looked up…. and saw Jesus walking across over 3 miles of water and reaching them.

We all have “Seas of Galilee” in our lives, whether it is financial in nature… whether it is in our relationships… whether it is in your health… we all have “rough & choppy” seasons in our lives where we can’t seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Jesus showed his disciples a few things that I believe that we can all learn from.

What Jesus proved to them in that circumstance was two-fold:

(1)  There is NO problem too big for Jesus — After all, he walked across three miles of water… he created the whole earth & the fullness of it all, so that means there is NOTHING we can go through that is too big for him!

(2) Welcome Jesus into your problems — After the disciples welcomed Jesus into the boat, the Bible says the disciples “immediately” reached their destination. When we welcome Jesus into our problems, issues, and circumstances; we can EXPECT him to get us to that light at the end of a long tunnel!

When you put your trust in the Lord and put all your faith & troubles on Him.. He WILL by all means get you through the rough and choppy turns of life.

Be blessed today and walk in God’s abundance today!

When In Trouble — Cut Off Your Foot!!

Today’s Scripture:

“Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away…. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.” ( Matt 18:7, 8 )

No, Jesus is NOT telling us to go out and amputate our limbs… (that doesn’t sound like much fun, does it?)

What he is telling us though… is to run AWAY from sin, and learn to cut it out of our lives. Many times in our lives; we have people, destructive relationships, our possessions, our attitudes, and so many more things that seek to pull us away from God, and seeks to put up a wall & a barrier between us… and our savior.

What we need to do, is to make up our mind that no matter how much I care for a person or a relationship… no matter how much I enjoy my money or possessions, no matter how much I love my job…. I WILL NOT allow them to take me out of the will… or out of the love of God.

Sin is like a destructive cancerous tumor… that starts out small in your body, and over time, grows larger & larger until one day, it has totally consumed your body and killed you.

If there is ANYTHING in your life that does cause you to sin… or act against your conscience, take the action TODAY… to remove it from your life!

P.S. — Today is my first time doing a video blog post, and I must admit, it is much more scarier than actually speaking to people from a podium.  8)

Have a Problem? Jesus is the Solution!

Great crowds came to him [Jesus], bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute & many others, & laid them at his feet; and he HEALED them… The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking & the blind seeing. And they PRAISED the God of Israel!

(Matthew 15:30, 31)

It is simply AMAZING to me, how one man (Jesus) could literally command thousands & thousands to flock to him from distant villages in the scorching heat of the desert day… just to hear his simple messages, or to touch the hem of his garment.

To some it just plain doesn’t make any sense — and might even seem a little bit insane…

But when you think about it in a logical way… it makes total sense! Anytime you have the miraculous happening… anytime you have signs & wonders coming in the form of healing… anytime you know that you can get TOTAL deliverance from the enemy (whether it is in the form of deadly cancers eating away at your body, porn addictions, anger, drug addictions)… it would literally take an army to stop you from getting to the solution.

You see — when Jesus walked this earth… He was a SOLUTION. People of yesterday, just as today, had problems & issues… and anytime a person has a problem, be well assured they are looking for a solution!

Jesus’ primary mission was to reconcile a sinful mankind back to his Father… so that we would be spared a burning hell as our rightful punishment. When we put our faith in the work of Jesus and accept him as our Lord… ALL of our sins & past mess are forgiven, and we have gained entrance into heaven.

Jesus used healing, signs, and wonders as EVIDENCE to prove he was, who he said he was.

Whether a person is an Athiest, a Hindu, a Buddhist, Agnostic, Mormon, Islamic, Wiccan, or whatever… whenever they see the POWER of God working through a brother or sister getting healed in their body of sickness, or receiving sight to blind eyes, or seeing the lame begin to walk… there is NO denial, that Jesus… is who he says he is.

The awesome thing about Jesus… is that he is still ALIVE today! There are some who say that healing and deliverance is for yesterday… but the Bible says that, “Jesus is the SAME, yesterday, today, and forever!” (Hebrews 13:8)

As Jesus healed 2,000 years ago… he still heals today… and these are the signs that will still bring people to Christ in multitudes, even in 2009.

Jesus said “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12)

Be blessed and walk in God’s favor for your life today!

Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE for the Man or Woman of God!

For some of us... solving a Rubicks cube is IMPOSSIBLE! But when you place problems in Gods hands, NOTHING is impossible!

For some of us... solving a Rubick's cube is "IMPOSSIBLE"! But when you place problems in God's hands, NOTHING is impossible!

Blessings to all of you guys all across the world who are reading this Christian inspirational blog… and HAPPY Monday to you all!

By next week… we should be rolling out TodayAbundance 2.0, which will be a social community of “Christians Inspiring Christians”. All together across the Daily Jesus Inspiration fan page, FB group, & the TodayAbundance blog… we currently have 15,000+ members worldwide, and are excited to see what will happen when we get EVERYONE into one place!

I know that starting a new work or school week can be rough and tough for many of you all… and at times you can feel very weary about starting that new week… and for some of you — you feel it will be IMPOSSIBLE for you to get through this week joyfully.

But I am reminded of what the Word of God said to His disciples a little while back (well, more like a couple thousand years ago).

Jesus had been approached by a rich, young man (in Matthew 19:16-30) who was VERY wealthy… and this guy wanted to know the “secret” to inheriting eternal life.

Now in this day and age… I personally believe that a young person with a bankful of cash such as himself (maybe in his late teens, early twenties) who was searching for God… rather than trying to “live it up” in life with all of his money… by indulging in sex, women, drugs, etc. is really a champ. He truly knew that true wealth comes from inheriting eternal life!

Anyways, Jesus asks this young man a series of questions… and line by line asks the man if he had kept certain commandments from the Law of Moses (10 commandments).

The young man proudly answered ‘Yes’ to each of the questions Jesus posed to him.

…and I can see this young guy sticking his chest out, proud of the fact that he hadn’t killed anyone (Do not murder), proud of the fact that he hadn’t slept with another man’s wife (Do not commit adultery), and proud of the fact that he didn’t disrespect his parents (Honor your mother & father).

But let’s be real with ourselves for a second — how easy is it for us to keep those commandments? Yes, it’s pretty easy… last time I checked, I haven’t killed anyone either  (o:

So Jesus finally drops a bomb on this young man by telling him, “One thing you lack — if you want to be PERFECT, go sell your possessions and give the proceeds to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. THEN come and follow me!”

“Uh-oh!” thinks this young, wealthy man. “I can do all the other stuff you asked me… but selling all of my possessions? That’s kind of hard!”

…and the young man walked away dejected and feeling rejected, because he had ALL that wealth… and was not willing to part with it, to follow Jesus.

Jesus tells his disciples that it is easier for a camel to enter in through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven (some translations state it is hard for those who ‘trust in riches’ to enter in).

The disciples, thinking that this man was blessed of God because of his outwardly looks (the wealth) were dismayed… because if this guy couldn’t get in… how could they get in?

And Jesus tells them something that we can all hold and run with this week… and for the rest of our lives!

“With man it is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible!” (Matthew 19:26)

Jesus was NOT saying that money or amassing wealth is bad — but if it gets in your way of gaining access & fellowship to Jesus, you need to cut it out of your life.

What he IS saying, however, is that the man or the woman of God who seeks to place his or faith in an all loving, all knowing, & all caring God… not only will inherit the Kingdom of God… but will by no means be able to be STOPPED from moving further in life… or attaining higher heights in your journey on this earth.

You can only get SO far in your life without God based solely on your own strength and talents… but when you put your impossibilities into the hands of an Almighty God… there are NO impossibilities!

Let me know what you think… and be blessed with the rest of your week & God bless you!

Miracles will Happen… if You Believe!

Scripture Reading of the Day….

When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there.

Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.

“Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?

Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”

And they took offense at him.

But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor.”

…and he did not do many miracles there because of THEIR lack of faith.

Matthew 13:53-58

Because of the trials and downfalls that have happened in many of our lives… sometimes we come to a point where we just simply “don’t believe the Bible can work in certain areas of our lives”.

This can happen for so many reasons, such as a loved one died… or a person may have lost their job and don’t understand why… or a child who used to be so kind & gentle in the past, has now drifted far apart from that parent.

So we will believe that the Bible works in one area of our life (such as salvation)… but then we don’t believe it will work in other areas of our lives (such as in healing).

And many times, when Christian people try to console us at our low points… they use God’s Word & Scripture to try and help in the consolation process…. and sometimes we don’t accept it!

I am a personal witness that God’s Word does work… and it does work miracles in our lives… as long as we keep FAITH in it.

Sometimes, things and life WILL be tough… and you won’t understand everything. You WILL be hurt in this life — there is no argument to that. You won’t understand why certain negative things are happening to you, when you live a positive life…

Sometimes you won’t understand why people who you do right, continue to faithfully do wrong by you EVERY chance they get.

All this does not matter. Continue and FORCE yourself to believe (have faith) in the Word of God…. because it will work in your life, if you will give it time to work in your life!

Miracles WILL happen… just believe, and in due time it will all work out.

Be blessed today… and walk in God’s Abundance in all aspects of your life.

Freedom from Accusation

Are you Innocent or Guilty in the Courtroom of God?

Are you Innocent or Guilty in the Courtroom of God?

Read the following passage in Colossians 1:15-23

He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

The Bible tells us that Satan is “the accuser of the brethren”… meaning that he stands all day “accusing” us before God and even amongst our own selves.

Accusation is defined as ‘leveling charges against someone… or a formal charge of wrongdoing”.

Satan’s job is to be a prosecutor in the courtroom of God… and accuse us of our past wrongdoings and sins before the Almighty Judge. He likes to point the finger at us, telling us where we fell short at… and to convince us to remain in our guilt… and I believe that the guy does a great job at doing that!

But my question to you all is this…. “If God forgives you of your sins, why are you still tripping?”

You see, Jesus is your advocate and your defense lawyer… who has already PAID THE PRICE for your legal defense. He does not collect a retainer from you, but he’s a BETTER lawyer than a thousand Johnny Cochrans & Perry Masons put together!

WHY do we still blame ourselves and stick to our sins… when God tells us that, “… I will remember their sins NO MORE.” (Hebrews 8:12)

The Judge who decides whether you are guilty and deservant of a death sentence (hell), has ALREADY come to a decision that you are INNOCENT… as long as your faith is put in Jesus, your lawyer… and you are free!

You have TOTAL freedom from the past and whatever you did wrong in your life… so walk in the freedom that Christ Jesus gives you. Once you were alienated from God… but through the shed blood of Jesus, we are all reconciled (brought back into a PERFECT relationship) with God… and that’s the final verdict!

Let me know what you think, comments are very much appreciated.  (o:

Your Faith Will Make You Whole!

Read this following passage about a blind beggar who had a run in with the Master!

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”

He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”.

“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.

Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

Luke 18:35-43

The issue that this man had was that he was blind and couldn’t see… and the solution was Jesus, the Word of God… who came stepping into this beggar’s neighborhood.

The Bible tells us that he CRIED out to Jesus, probably in despair… and all those good folks around him basically told him to, “Shut up!”.

…but this man wasn’t about to let a few haters rob him of his chance to get to the Word and receive his healing. The man cried out EVEN louder… even at the risk of being embarrassed around his associates, neighbors, and friends… and kept on crying out until Jesus stopped & answered him.

It was obvious what this man needed healing for… everyone could see he was BLIND! But yet Jesus still asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”….

When we are dealing with issues in our lives, that we come to Jesus needing healing for… be it healing in our physical bodies… or healing in our minds from depression or mental conditions… or if its healing in our marriages & relationships… we MUST be specific about what we WANT in our prayer!

Don’t think that you’re asking too much in prayer… or that you’re being too “greedy” in prayer. Your Heavenly Father owns ALL the silver and gold in this world… and there is NOTHING that is too large for Him to accomplish!

…and at the end of the day, the blind beggar got the sight and the miracle that he desired. Jesus’ final response to this man was, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”

The man believed that he could receive his sight by 100% faith… and received it! You have probably heard it millions of times before… but ANYTHING is possible to you, if you can believe it… and have the faith to see it!

When you are in prayer and praying for something… act, believe, and confess like you’ve ALREADY got it. Begin to thank God for your healing in your body (even though you still may be feeling pain).

Begin to thank God for renewing the relationship bond between you and a sibling that you had in the past, but was damaged years ago because of an event far in the past (even though you haven’t talked to them for years).

Begin to act like that thing you so desire, is already here… and you will by all means receive it!

Until next time, be blessed… and walk in God’s abundance for your life today.

Is Jesus God? Proof that Jesus is who He SAYS He was!

We all know that there are thousands of different beliefs a person can have in this world. Some people are Christians, others are Jews, still others are Muslim. Many worship the God of the Hindus, follow the Kaballah, some are Free Thinkers, some worship nature, others worship money. Still others are Agnostic and some people don’t even believe in a god at all (athiest).

Obviously, the huge majority of you who follow this blog are believers of Christ Jesus… but have you EVER wondered if there is scientific proof that proves that Jesus is God? Have you ever wondered if Jesus is the only way to God?

Have you ever thought, ‘Some of my friends or co-workers worship Allah… or perhaps are super-intelligent athiests who won’t believe in God, unless there’s proof?’

Is there any way to put scientific or mathematical proof to our faith in Jesus… or do we have to just blindly believe the Bible just SOLEY by our faith alone?

(1) Mathematics (Statistics) proves that Jesus is truly who the Bible says He was.
Okay, so I know that when you read the words mathematics & statistics, that doesn’t sound very sexy… and probably half of you stopped reading at that point… but I promise you, I’ll keep it short and to the point. (really, it’s a promise!)

That said… some people think that the Old Testament is a drag and a bore… with some of it’s many genealogy lists and numbers (and honestly speaking, I tend to pass these numbers by myself when I’m reading)… but what many people don’t know is that one of the Old Testament’s MAJOR good points, is that it proves that Jesus is who he said he was… the Son of God.

In case you didn’t know, the Old Testament contains 39 seperate books (the Catholic O.T. has 46). These books were written over the span of some 3,000 years by over 25 different Jewish authors.

Now here’s where it gets interesting…

Many of the prophecies and statements in this 3,000 year-old compilation of books… were fulfilled in the life of ONE man. Can you guess who?

Jesus fulfilled over 48 Old Testament prophecies in His life. Some of these included:

* Being born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14)
* Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2)
* He would be preceded by a messenger – John the Baptist (Isaiah 40:3)
* His side would be pierced (Zechariah 12:10)
* He would be crucified (Psalm 22)
* He was a healer (Isaiah 53:5)

So is this a coincidence? The answer is ‘No’.

Using the modern science of probability… a scientist named Peter Stoner, stated that the probability for just 8 of those 48 prophecies being fulfilled in the life of one man… would be 1 in 10^17. That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000 chance.

To make this number more understandable… if you take 10^17 silver dollars, they would fill the WHOLE entire state of Texas… two feet deep! Now if you take just ONE of those silver dollar, mark it, and throw it into the mix, then blindfold a man and tell him to pick up that marked dollar… the chances of him pocking up the right dollar is the SAME probability of just 8 of those 48 prophecies of Jesus being fulfilled in the lifetime of one man.

That simply does not happen by coincidence… it is divine order.

So basically put… statistics prove that Jesus is who he says he was based on O.T. prophecy. And if that is the case, then that means that we can logically believe and TRUST whatever word Jesus gives in the Bible about himself… or us. And one of those statements is, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 8:12)

(2) Science (Physics) proves that there is a God in this Universe

There are some Christians out there who believe that science is “a tool of the devil”… and then there are many athiests out there who believe that God is just “a happy fairy tale, created to satisfy the spiritual needs for dumb people”.

I believe that as both spiritual and intelligent people… it is a MUST for us to embrace both God and science.

Why do I say this?

Because God (the Bible) explains ‘WHY things happen”…while science explains ‘HOW things happen”

The Bible tells us WHY God created the world, the universe, the oceans, the animals, and us human beings. It tells us WHY there is evil in the world, and WHY we need a savior, and WHY we exist on this earth (our purpose).

But don’t science and the Bible disagree in a lot of the major stuff? The answer is ‘No’ for the most part.

Science goes into greater depth and tells HOW these things happen. Science also gives us things called ‘Laws’ and ‘Theories’.

A LAW is something that is proven to be true, because we have evidence… and a THEORY is something that we think MIGHT be true, but we can’t actually prove it because there’s not enough evidence.

Gravity is a law. It is proven that if you jump off a building and are not Superman, you will fall. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Evolution and the Big Bang are theories. Never will you see scientists call it the law of evolution or the big bang law. It is always called the theory of evolution… or the Big Bang theory.

Now while we worship God, our Creator… and not worship science or the creation (Romans 1:25)… science does in fact PROVE that there is a God in the universe.

Not meaning to sound too geeky (no offense to all you smart people reading this)… the First LAW of Thermodynamics in physics simply states that ENERGY ‘can be transformed… but is NEITHER created or destroyed’.

In other words, energy always has been… it has no beginning and it has no end. Energy was the 1st thing in existence… and everything in this universe and this world that we behold with our eyes… was created by this energy. Energy is eternal. Energy transformed is what gives people, the trees, the birds of the air and fish of the sea life.

Does this kind of sound like somebody you know?

God in His Word states several things about Himself:

* “There were no gods formed before me… and there will be none after me” (Isaiah 43:10)
* “All things in this world were made through Him & without Him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:3)
* “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7)

In the end, our faith is what brings us to God. But it’s always nice to have some scientific proof to back what we believe in!

Comments, disagreements, and your thoughts are ALWAYS welcome! Let me know what you think on the comments section of this blog… or writing on the group wall of TodayAbundance if you’re reading this on Facebook.

Be blessed… and walk in God’s abundance today!

Do People Feel WELCOME Around You?

Alright… I will start off by saying this… if you have NEVER been to the Caribbean (or outside of the country that you currently live in)… you must go visit a foreign places and lands, as those will be some of the most enlightening times of your life!

That said… my wife and I just arrived back home from our vacation to Puerto Rico a few hours ago… and the experience of visiting a foreign land truly made my little world, get just a LITTLE bit larger. (and yes, I know P.R. is an American territory, but trust me… it is unlike anything you’ll EVER see in the continental United States)

As we were down there on the island…  exploring back and forth & interacting with many of the Puerto Ricans, for one of the first times in my life, I felt like the foreigner because I spoke ONLY a little bit of Spanish (enough to barely get me by)… and my wife spoke none at all!

Fortunately many of the Puerto Ricans were bilingual… but it seemed that just as many of them weren’t, and only spoke Spanish.

If any of you know what I’m talking about… you can agree that when you are not well-versed in the language of a country that you are in… you can feel somewhat lost, somewhat silly & goofy, a bit out-of-place, and slightly confused.

Rude awakening, yes… but now I know to a small degree what many Latino and other foreigners who first move to the United States feel like.

But, for the most part, I felt very welcomed in this new, tropical land that we visited… and I guess it helped that as tourists we were dishing out money, money, money (LOL).

So I started pondering this thought, “Am I (or any of us) the type of person… that goes out of their way to make other people feel welcome?”

In Mark 2:13-17, the apostle writes about how Jesus walked with, talked with, and had dinner with tax collectors, the sick, and other “sinners”… and how the Pharisees were anxious to rip him a new one because of Jesus’ choice of friends.

When you look at the character of Jesus and who He was… he totally exemplified the personality traits that we should all have. He welcomed ALL who came to Him. Now He might have put a few of those folks who came to Him in place… or scolded them… but whenever that happened, He did it in love… in order to better that person.

Jesus didn’t care if a person had a low socio-economic status… He didn’t care if they were a whore… He didn’t care if they stole… He didn’t care if they were blind… He didn’t care if they were super-wealthy… All who came to Him, were welcome.

So the question I would like to ask you (and don’t worry, I asked myself the same question — I didn’t want to be a hypocrite)… is this:

Do people feel welcome around you?

And no, I’m NOT talking about the people that you like… or love to be around… because that’s easy for you to make them feel welcome around you!

I’m talking about the people that you can’t stand being around. The people who owe you money from 5 years ago. The person who all your friends talk about because they’re different. Do you make them feel welcome?

That person who is a loner. That person you see everyday on the corner begging for money… and you think that if you give them money, they’ll spend it on liquor. Do you make them feel welcome?

Let’s go deeper. How about that person who is a different color than you. Yes I know that you’re not a racist, but do you shy away from a person or keep a person at distance…. just because they’re black, white, yellow, or red… just because they don’t “look like” you?

How about that person who is Jewish… or they’re Islamic… or Hindu… or dare I say they are an athiest… and don’t believe in God at all? Do you make them feel welcome around you?

What many people don’t realize is that walking with a welcoming spirit can be a ministry all in itself. When you make people feel welcome around you… you can cut down the tension, you can cut down the barriers that separate many of us… and this is all because making someone feel welcome around you is an act of love.

Now that’s not to say that you accept a person’s sin or moral defiencies. That should NEVER happen… but there’s an old saying that I heard once that says, ‘Accept the Sinner, not the Sin’.

As a person who 100% believes in the Bible as the Word of God… I understand that Jesus is”…the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes the Father… except through Him” (John 14:6). But that will NEVER stop me from making a person who thinks or believes differently from me… feel welcomed or loved.

You see, when you make someone feel welcome around you… through either conversation, or helping them, or befriending them, or something as simple as a caring smile… you are causing walls to fall down.

Why? Because you are letting that person know that you value them as a person, though they may look different from you, believe different from you, and may not be as popular or as high on the social ladder as you are…. you let them know they are welcomed… and therefore, they are loved!

By making people feel welcome around you… you are doing a great work… and are guaranteeing yourself that when you are in a vulnerable situation, that others will make you feel welcome around them.

Please let me know what you think on the blog or on the discussion group on the TodayAbundance group page on Facebook. I would like to hear what you all think!

So until tomorrow… “Nos vemos más tarde y ser bendecido!” (See you later and be blessed!)
